A FEEDBACK FORUM HAS BEEN LAUNCHED: http://www.acen.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=17780
Brief Rules Explanation (taken from last year):
Each person will be given a sheet of paper to insert in their badge this will be an identifying number, you will also be given a sheet of paper that details what tables you will be sitting at during the various rounds. The ID number will be worn over the badge and it will be STRICTLY enforced. This is to facilitate the actual aspects of the speed date.
You will be given 5 minutes at the table you've been assigned to, after the bell rings you will move to another table, you can mark on the sheet of paper whether you were interested in the person you "dated". As per generic rules, the guys will do the moving and the girls will sit put.
Rules of "Engagement": 1. No last names, this is one of the reasons that the ID is to cover the badge and it's common speed dating courtesy. For purposes of ACen, no forum names, no aim screennames or the other messenging systems. 2. No locations, this means where you're from, when you may be attending school, and since it's at ACen NO ROOM NUMBERS. 3. No contact info, that's a duh you'll see why when you read the rest of the rules. 4. No Careers, also a common rule. 5. No telling your date if you're going to mark them as interested or not. 6. No skipping dates, follow the schedule period. 7. When the bell rings get your butt out of the chair and into the next one.
After your speed dating session you will give your information to the organizers on who you were interested in, and on the back of your ID # badge thingy, you will fill out your contact information.
For the 18+: Name: Email: Phone: Room Number (OPTIONAL): *should you not have a phone # that's fine too*
For the High Schoolers: Name: Email: Phone (OPTIONAL):
The girls will be asked to leave first then the guys will leave and about an hour after the dating, we will have the results in Panel Programming Operations and you can come pick them up. This will be the area outside of the grand ballrooms labeled "Convention Registration" by the hotel.
